About this event
Beginner Beekeeping Class is designed for new beekeepers and those wanting a refresher. It will be a four-week course covering The Bee Yard and Basic Equipment, Obtaining and Installing Your Bees, Working Your Hives, Seasonal Activities, Common Problems and Solutions, and Harvesting Your Honey. There will be 2 live and 2 virtual classes.
The first and third classes will be a live class at the Milton Community Center and the second and fourth classes will be virtual utilizing Zoom. There will be a field visit at the completion of the course for hands on experience.
The class will begin the week of January 23, 2025, and conclude on February 13, 2025. The classes are on Thursdays beginning at 7:00 PM. The cost will be $25 and is open to all active members. You must be logged in as an active member to register. If your membership has expired, you must renew your membership before registering for the class.
The course will be based on the book "Backyard Beekeeping" by David Burns which will be purchased by student.
After registering, you will receive a welcome email with a complete syllabus. Specific sign-in details for each Zoom call will be sent to all participants one week before each interactive session.
